Lomborg was named one of the 100 Most Influential People by Time magazine after the publication of his controversial book, The Skeptical Environmentalist which challenged widely-held beliefs that the environment is getting worse. The principle of analysis is basic in the extreme, but defensible. Two problems: first, he assumes as an unspoken premise that everyone has the same moral values. An important "positive" evolution change is an organism acquiring a great desire to engage in the act of reproduction. More offspring, means greater probability of survival (all other things held equal). Of course we are now seeing the consequences of such an evolutionary step. Economists are there to ensure that this process keeps going, and keep more money in peoples pockets, regardless of the environmental implications. I know, my father was an economist.
