I'll go on the beach for fun (bbq, football, cricket etc) and maybe get a bit of suntan that way. But I don't sunbathe because it is damn boring, dangerous for fair skinned people like me and also incredibly vain. So I agree with tvshark. Why do people bother try to change themselves so much? tvshark ::: Favorites I understand that having darker skin does protect one from the sun. The argument that I have always heard is, people get a tan to look healthier. Some people only get a tan because its fashionable, not for health reasons. Which is why some person end up with skin cancer.
