Description: My Funny Valentine Getz Stan/Chet Baker 1983 From several comments I learned that this is a concert done in Stockholm in 1984. Next to Stan Getz on tenor sax we see and hear Chet Baker doing the vocal and playing a great chorus on trumpet as well. It is too bad that the video and the sound are somewhat out of sink. It is not some clever lip technique, it is just that the picture shows about a second late. On piano is Jim McNeely, George Mraz is on bass and Victor Lewis plays drums. Stan getz ( 1927 -- 1991) was an American jazz musician. He is considered one of the greatest tenor saxophone players of all time. Known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, Getz's prime influence was the wispy, mellow tone of his idol, Lester Young.
