This was the last cross-field head recorder that Akai made before getting into the GX series tape recorders. The next model after these was the GX-365 which is almost identical as far as the mechanism. You've got a good find there, a classic. __________________________________________________ | |
| CassetteMaster ::: Favorites 2007-07-13 18:27:35 A pawn shop. The belt is good, I believe the motor has problems. It runs fine at 1 7/8 and 3 3/4 ips but 7 1/2 is slightly slower than normal. The recording was made in the 7 1/2 mode but I can get proper 7 1/2 ips speed with capstan sleeve at 3 3/4 setting. __________________________________________________ | |
